Vote Shop - End of Life

That's right, we're shutting down our vote shop system by the end of this month! Everyone who's got some points left, should go on a shopping tour before your vote points will vanish by the 30th of June. You can still access it for now by visiting: https://gatheringro.ch/vote The Reasons We Hate Daily Voting! Let's be honest: No one likes to vote, it's a chore. Some people feel forced to do so, because you miss out on rewards. And having certain quest items bound to a vote shop system, only makes it worse. Bad Results Our website statistics clearly show: top sites don't bring any new players... When we ask you to help us by writing a short review, it's because: All top sites combined, bring less monthly visitors than a single player review, which result in over 50% of total new monthly visitors! Pro Tip: Instead of wasting minutes with voting every day, write a single 5 minute review instead, which supports us for months to come. It really helps! Shady Business Strategies Smaller servers don't ever get a chance because they're being overshadowed by the big guys. The main way to get ranked higher: Purchase fake votes. You either pay a monthly subscription, purchase votes directly or compete in actual auctions to keep your site as high as possible. This is not just extremely expensive as you pay per page, but also creates absolutely unrealistic results for top site visitors. To put it simple: Top Sites ratings do not reflect a good server, they reflect forced votes, and who's spending the most money. Toxic Backlinks Search engines like google and co. run very complex algorithms to determine the best possible search results. These algorithms also rate websites worse, based on toxic backlinks, which are links that are being posted via paid services or things like these top sites. Getting our website removed from these pages will ultimately improve organic search engine results (real visitors finding us through search engines). Lacking Updates Oh boy, isn't it boring? The vote shop basicaly faced its end of life when we stopped with seasonal content rotations, what a shame... While it helped us to focus on ingame content, the shop did no longer fullfill basic expectations of our player base. The Day After Don't you worry about our fellow member of the GatheringRO Corp! The Vote Prize Redeemer will continue to serve you with rewards, just in a different way: After the 30th of June, our gRO Token merchants will recieve an update to include vote shop items that are being moved over, so you have a new way to redeem your precious consumables and tools! So make sure you use all your vote points, before they're gone! Vote Points can no longer be accessed after the 30th of June. https://gatheringro.ch/vote All these reasons combined lead to a very simple conclusion. Let's say goodbye to top sites, so we can spend more time playing the game. Let us celebrate its upcoming demise! ~<3 What's New? Our website and forum has been getting some love lately, which both now return clean URLs. Here's an example: Old Address: https://www.gatheringro.ch/index.php?module=account&action=view New Address: https://gatheringro.ch/account/view/ It's not just user friendly, it also helps for better search engine ratings, which is a great plus. There were are also plenty of content updates on several web, wiki and forum guide pages. Information is power! What's Next? 1.) As usual, bug fixes and smaller changes are on the horizon, which are based on your reports. Thank you <3 2.) You told us in our last survey that it sucks, and we listened. A brand new patcher is coming! It is a reliable, field tested system, that improves your experience with brand new visuals and the removal of manually patching official updates! 3.) We're currently also working on a big update, which still requires lots of work and testing to get it done right. This one will bring a vast amount of changes, big and small! WELCOME (OR WELCOME BACK) TO GATHERINGRO! This is your comprehensive Beginner's Guide to An Efficient Gold Farmer on the server! Special thanks to my slave, Sirk, for his "voluntary" assistance to the creation of this guide. If you're new to this server or just recently came back from a long hiatus, then this is the guide for you. The in-game currency for Ragnarok Online is called the Zeny. Money runs this world and therefore, anyone who is starting out or recently came back will want to start gathering currency the best and fastest way possible completely from scratch. There is no place better to start your money earning journey than our very own Goldring Field (alt_fild03). The field is home to Goldring, Silvering, and Bronzering, as well as the MVP Goldring Boss. These monsters drop 4 different items that you can sell to an NPC for zeny. These are listed below with their corresponding selling price (overcharge price): Bag of Bronze Coins (Item ID: 672) -500z (620z) dropped by Bronzering (30%, and 5%, yes it has two drop chances from one monster; Mob ID: 31557) Bag of Silver Coins (Item ID: 676) - 25,000z (31,000z) dropped by Silvering (30%; Mob ID: 31558) Gold (Item ID: 969) - 75,000z (93,000z) dropped by Goldring (30%, and 5%, yes it has two drop chances from one monster; Mob ID: 31510) Silver Bullion (Item ID: 7229) - 100,000z (124,000z) dropped by Silvering (5%; Mob ID: 31558) WARNING: This guide assumes that readers are aware of how to type in Chat to write down commands. Due to the comprehensive nature of the guide, some aspects may be very detailed and can be skipped by more familiar users. INDEX: PART 1: WELCOME TO GATHERING RO! PART 2: WELCOME TO IZLUDE! BUILDING YOUR GUNSLINGER PART 3: THE REBELLION AND GOLD FARMING PART 4: THE GOLDRING FIELD So - let's begin! PART 1: WELCOME TO GATHERING RO! Step 1. Create your character - after logging in you need to start obviously by creating a character of the human race. Step 2. Welcome scene - this is where all new characters end up so if you are completely starting from scratch on this server, I suggest you follow through, if not then you may skip and proceed to PART 2 of this guide. - Follow the yellow arrows to walk towards the portal to the right of the screen by putting your cursor above the ground cell you wish to move to and pressing left-click on your mouse. *Please ignore the Login Rewards notification as this does not apply to you. - In the next room, talk to the Wounded Swordsman by hovering your cursor on the NPC to make a speech bubble appear and interacting with it by using the left-click. - Talk to the NPC and he will instruct you to go outside the ship to speak to the captain. Again, follow the arrows to the portal to the south to go out of the ship. - Once outside, you will see the captain. Captain Carocc, to the left side of your screen. - Talk to him and let him know that you're fine and others need help inside. - He will then instruct you to kill the Poring in the map to collect wood materials to fix the ship, which you will give to an NPC later to get off the island. He will also give you a backpack that contains equipment and weapons that you can use as you start your journey in Rune-Midgard. The on-screen NPC instructions are very coherent so please read and follow if you are not familiar with how Ragnarok Online works. - He will also ask you to check your Skill Window (Alt + S) but you can ignore this for now as you will need to level up later. - Inventory (Alt + E) and Equipment (Alt + Q). The Beginners Backpack, once opened, will give you a random amount of zeny from 10k to 100k (thanks Sirk). - Put on all the equipment and a weapon of your choice before you proceed. - Type the command @autoloot before you proceed to kill anything in the game to automatically loot all their drops. All items collected may be sold to an NPC for zeny and every zeny counts because each bullet costs 1z. - Proceed to kill the Poring and collect the wood. - On the upper right hand portion of your screen you should notice an arrow and a yellow + sign. This is the minimap portion of the screen. The arrow is you and the direction you are facing relative to the map and the + sign is a marker. - Proceed to the direction of the marker to find the Sailor, give him the Wood and he will give you 5 pcs of Magnifiers which will be handy later on. - Move towards the portal on the ship to set sail for Izlude! PART 2: WELCOME TO IZLUDE! BUILDING YOUR GUNSLINGER Step 1. Leveling up your novice - you need Job level 10 and Basic Skill level 9 to change jobs. If after killing Poring on the island you are at Job Level 10, then you can proceed Step 3 of this part to change your Job into a Gunslinger, if not, continue to follow this guide. (Side Note: Once you reach Izlude a Quest prompt (!) will appear on Captain Carocc. Interacting with him will direct you to the Academy where all new players learn Ragnarok. You may wish to go on for a detailed tutorial if you are a beginner but if not then you can skip and proceed to the rest of this step) - Type @warp prt_maze01 146 24 to start killing Lunatic to level up. This will take a very short amount of time. Step 2. Job level 10, Basic Skill Level 9 - at Job Level 10, you are now able to learn Basic Skill up to level 9. This is required to be able to change jobs to Gunslinger. - Open the Skill Window (Alt + S) and left click on the Basic Skill icon until it reaches Level 9. And hit the apply button at the bottom of the window. - Type in @go 0 to teleport to the server's main town Althea. Step 3. Welcome to Althea! - the main town in the server is home to all the relevant NPCs for the game as well as the market for vending. - Find and talk to the Job Master in Althea to change your job to a Gunslinger. She is one of the NPCs on the upper left section of the town mall. - If Basic Skill level 9 is properly learned, then you will be asked to choose the job you want. Find Gunslinger in the options near the bottom and confirm to become a Gunslinger. Step 4. Equipping your Gunslinger - now we need to buy a new weapon for your Gunslinger as well as getting the ammo. - Type @warp izlude_in 70 102 and once you arrive, speak to the Trading Merchant and click on Buy in the Option Window - Purchase the weapon Rolling Stone and as much bullets as you want. You should have enough zeny from the Beginner's Backpack. If you do not have enough zeny, you can first sell some of the loot you have in your inventory. - Drag the item from the window on the left to the window on the right and click on the Buy (or Sell) button at the bottom of the window to complete the transaction. - Equip the Rolling Stone by double clicking on the weapon and equip your Bullet by dragging it from the Inventory Window to your character preview in the Equipment Window Step 5. Testing out your Gunslinger - it's time to test out your new character in a safe environment so we need to go back to the Lunatic by typing @warp prt_maze01 146 24 - Kill all the lunatics here so we can obtain the skill Full Buster which you will use to level up until you upgrade your job into a Rebellion. - Obtain the Skill Full Buster at its Max Level of 10. Pressing the skill in the skill window automatically learns all pre-requisite skills for that skill - assuming you have enough Skill Points. - Remember to press Apply to save the changes and now you can drag the skill form the Skill Window to your Skill Bar. If your Skill Bar is hidden, press F12 on your keyboard to make it appear. - Once you have Full Buster, you can move to the portal to the right to test out your skill on Bigfoot. Kill all the Bigfoot with the skill Full Buster to familiarize yourself. - After killing the Bigfoot you may add attributes (stats) to your character by opening the Attribute Window (Alt + A) and adding to your Str, Int, Dex. Be careful about this part because it will be expensive to reset these attributes so we want to increase attributes to be ready for farming in the Goldring Field. Step 6. Obtaining your farming weapon Drifter - the skill we will be using to farm the Goldring Field requires a Gatling Gun type weapon and since we are starting from scratch, we cannot afford to buy anything and we will have to look for it ourselves. - As noted by @Sirk, remove your Beginner's Equipment before proceeding to the next map. The equipment autocasts defensive skills that have global cooldown that will interfere with Full Buster cooldown and it will get you killed. -Type in @warp juperos_01 168 209 and be careful! This is a very dangerous map and you may find yourself in trouble if you're not wary of the monsters in the area. This is a relatively safe area to warp to. - Your target is the Venatu with HP 15900. This is the monster that will drop your desired weapon. Use your Full Buster skill to deal good damage. *Remember that note about removing equipment? Yeah, Stone Skin and other skills messed me up while making this guide. - In your chatbox, you should see that you obtained an Unidentified Gatling Gun. This is the Drifter. Use the Magnifier you initially obtained from the Sailor in Part 1 to appraise the unidentified weapon. - Depending on how long it takes you to obtain the weapon, you may or may not be ready to change jobs to Rebellion. You can continue to gain experience in this map and reach the max Base Level of 250. But be sure to reach the max Job Level of 120 in order to change jobs. - At Job Level 120, consume all your skill points to any skill of your choosing. You will not be able to change jobs if you have remaining unused skill points. PART 3. THE REBELLION AND GOLD FARMING Step 1. Return to Althea (@go 0) - this is the final step before you start to go to the Goldring Field. - Speak to the Job Master again and change your job into a Rebellion - Once you have successfully changed your jobs, you are now a Rebellion and are able to learn the skill Round Trip. This is the skill you will use to effectively kill monsters and farm the Goldring Field. You are now ready to warp to the field by typing @warp alt_fild03. - Once there, and if you are at Base Level 250, make sure your attributes are set with Str, Int, and Dex are maxed at 200. These attributes are specific for farming Gold. You have the freedom to deviate if you find one that works for you that is versatile. - Kill a few Goldrings using Full Buster while you have not learned Round Trip. At Job Level 7, you are now able to learn the skill Round Trip and you can do so as you have learned earlier and add it to your Skill Bar. - You may now proceed to equip your Drifter and use your Round Trip skill to kill the monsters in the field. - Round Trip is a skill with a 13x13 area of effect. Therefore you can kill multiple monsters at once as long as they are in range. PART 4. THE GOLDRING FIELD - Navigating the Goldring Field depends on the person. My preferred method is to walk as it is a more interactive form of farming and the monsters here can be provoked. - Damaging a Silvering will provoke all other Silvering in the area that are looking in your direction to come near and attack you. Likewise this is true for Goldring and Bronzering. However, it does not apply between monsters (ie provoking Goldring by damaging Silvering or Bronzering, etc.). This is very advantageous for a Rebellion because doing a single damage on one monster will allow all other monsters in line of sight to walk towards you and you can kill them all by casting one Round Trip skill. - The map below shows the path to which I navigate the map. I find this to be effective in coming across concentrations of monsters for a more efficient farming. - - It is important to note that there is a portion of the map that cannot be accessed by walking. Therefore you have to go to it by typing @jump 186 187. There have been occasions that monsters are concentrated here so it is worth visiting from time to time while farming. - Movement speed is the limiting factor to navigating the Goldring Field effectively. The easiest and cheapest way to increase this is using the Authoritative Badge, which increases movement speed for 3 minutes. It is easily obtainable from Sohee (100%; @warp pay_dun03) or Greatest General (100%; @warp pay_fild10). - However, once you get the hang of the game, and the server, it will be wise to invest in more permanent boosts to movement speed. A few of these are: Airship Set - obtainable via the Airship Raid Instance Moonlight Flower Card - obtainable via MVP Moonlight Flower (1%; @warp pay_dun04) Brazilian Flag Hat - obtainable via Brazilian Headgear Quest - If you do not prefer to walk, then the other option is to use the command @jump to teleport to random cells on the map (like the item Fly Wing). - Regardless of your preferred movement, be sure to remember to take advantage of provoking the monsters and the way they cluster so your Round Trip skill can kill multiple monsters with one go. - Also don't forget to use @autoloot to loot EVERYTHING as every zeny counts. AND THERE YOU HAVE IT! Enjoy your new Gold Farming Rebellion. REMEMBER THAT EVERY ZENY COUNTS! SO DON'T LEAVE ANY LOOT UNCOLLECTED! As noted by @Sirk (again), if you wish to pursue your career as a Rebellion, I suggest looking towards Sanhe's Guide to Rebellion as it is a very well written comprehensive guide to building an effective Rebellion. Please let me know if you enjoyed this guide. If you did, I will make another guide for cheap improvements to create a more efficient farmer. Criticisms are always welcome as well!

This guide will cover the following about Daily Quests: Introduction Useful Commands Daily Quest Ranks & Rewards Tips and Tricks Introduction Daily Quests are an important feature of GatheringRO as it provides both zenny and coupons that grant access to various items and utilities that enable one to get stronger in the server. To start daily quests, proceed to the "Adventurer's Guild" in Althea (@go adv) and speak to Falmira the Adventurer Guild Member to begin your quest. Useful Commands Before we begin we will need to familiarise ourselves with these muy importante commands that will help you do DQ more efficiently and effectively: @jump allows you to get in and out quick after murdering and pillaging those mooks) @warp allows you to teleport straight into the mooks home-base and lay waste to them while managing to steal a doodah or two.) @aloot rate "Input number between 1-100" (e.g. @aloot rate 1) Allows you to choose which specific percentages range doodah you want because let's face it some of these mooks carry crapola) @aloot item "Input item name or item number" (e.g. @aloot item hung doll) enables you to loot a specific doodah from a mook because what are we going to do with a Poring's ID card? Get in a club? @whereis "Input monster id or monster name" (e.g. @whereis poporing) enables you to take a sneak peak on where the pesky mooks are hiding. @whodrops "Input item name or item #" (e.g. @whodrops puppet) enables you to take see the monsters' belongings before murdering and stealing all or most of their belongings because let's face it Falmira runs a syndicate) @mi gives you information on the mooks such as element, drops, and level. (e.g. @mi jejeling) Wouldn't want to come unprepared and get your butt-owskie handed to you! @storage for your personal handler kafra storage needs. @gstorage is only for those who run their own partnership syndicates with Falmira. Daily Quest Ranks & Rewards C-Rank: Rank C is an easy job, see... some of the mooks owe the Adventurers guild a lot of gold and they decided to flee with the moolah. We showed them kindness and we our repaid with disrespect. So we ask you to collect the payment... IN BLOOD!!! Kill a certain amount of mooks and you get a reward. What happens if you want to murder more? Not a problem! Except we're only paying you for the X amount we give. B-Rank: Rank B is a little trickier but it could be the easiest among the tasks. We don't want you to baptise anyone with death but instead, eternal servitude to the Adventurers guild... See... how this organisation survives is through labour, hard-work, and moolah. You are our hard-worker and our labourers are those mooks who you deliver to us. We need you to kidnap a certain amount of people and we will graciously reward you. Make sure no one sees you. Rank B are taming quests, you don't need to tame the monster you just need the egg. A-Rank: Rank A is a little easy but it could be the hardest. We need supplies to run this organisation and we always run out on supplies for certain items, which is why we give you the task to do the grocery shopping. It's a little tricky because some of the supplies we ask you to get for us aren't available in the regular market, so we are gonna need you pillage some villages for it, but for the regular supplies we will give you a list of fences where you can grab them from. Here are some notable NPC's & Quests to aid you in your Grocery Shopping. Simply open the spoiler and Ctrl + F to find items you need. S-Rank: RANK S is the trickiest, The adventurers guild has been the biggest organisation since this world came to be, and we hate competition. From time to time one of those mooks decides to step up and become an "entrepreneur" or "competition" and they think they can organise their own Adventurers guilds, but they don't know there can't be any other syndica- *cough* *cough* Guild! Simple thing is they can't run it, they'll divide the market and then crash it, so we need you to eliminate all the competition before it even becomes an issue. Be careful! I hear most, if not all of them have body guards, watch your back! ===TO BE CONTINUED=== Credits: Special thanks to @Kazalus for inspiring me to make this guide, proof-read, and by adding spice and everything nice.

Sirk's Guide to Casting and Cast Times

Sirk's Guide to Casting and Cast Times Table of contents I. Introduction II. Individual Class Breakdowns Note: Units used is Seconds. If the skill is not posted here, that means its either a passive skill or has no cast time. If the skill has increasing or decreasing cast times as you increase the skill level, I will note down the cast times of both extremes. Disclaimer! Not all cast times noted below are accurate. There are multiple reasons why, one of which could be that my source is based on IRO servers while gRO follows the KRO server. Either way, This does not affect my recommendations. A. Acolyte A1. Arch Bishop A2. Shura B. Archer B1. Wanderer B2. Minstrel B3. Ranger C. Magician C1. Sorcerer C2. Warlock D. Merchant D1. Genetic D2. Mechanic E. Swordsman E1. Royal Guard E2. Rune Knight F. Thief F1. Guillotine Cross F2. Shadow Chaser III. Conclusion, Sources, and Acknowledgements So while this may seem like a lot of information to take down, knowing the cast times of whatever skill you plan to use could mean the difference between you killing your opponent and you standing there with a green bar above your head and seeing your life flash before your every eyes. If this guide gets favorable reviews, I might add the expanded classes. and please leave your comments and suggestions I would like to Thank Rayvier for helping me with his guide and for making sure I finished this guide XD the laziness is strong in me Possible Updates: More Classes? Great guide! I like how detailed it is. That way if ever i come across a new player asking for how to get zenies or someone just asking me whats a better way of killing goldrings(one of these already happened to me a few weeks ago ), I can just direct them to this guide. I would, however, like to suggest that you tell people following the second part of your guide to not to use the beginner armor set. This is because that set autocast defensive skills when hit. Now normally this would be a good thing however because the spells that are being autocasted have global cast delay and that they happen very frequently, some players may find that they are unable to cast Full Buster, causing their demise instead of helping them. You can also add that if the reader would like to develop/invest in their rebellion they can refer to Kaz/Sanhe's guide to rebellion. Its a great guide for aspiring rebellions and can help show that rebellions are more than just goldring farmers. Anyway keep up the great work and I hope to see more guides in the future

    New Patcher

New Branding The re-design of our patcher gave us a great opportunity to re-brand ourselfs. Our new logo represents Skoll & Hati, the relentless pursuers of Mani & Sol (divinities of the moon and sun). Also our font is inspired by the old norse signs, which brings us closer to the true experience that Ragnarok Online is all about. For now, the new logo is only represented on our patcher. But we'll make sure to update other aspects of our representations as we step into the future. Patcher Design A big welcome to all Cyanophobia people out there! The cyan/blue times are over, as we step into a more grounded and darker era of norse mythology. While the patcher has been slightly increased in size, we're also featuring a beautiful new art piece from caesty, a very talented artist! It took multiple iterations and lots of polish to reach this release state. We hope you enjoy the balance between functionality and design. Functionality We put a lot of thought into the usability of the patcher, and believe that we improved in most aspects. News Even though the old patcher offered news with full text and images, it was all smushed into a small box that made it uncomfortable to read and navigate through. With this new approach, we deliver announcements with clear titles and a short summary instead. The Announcements button at the bottom will then navigate you to the full news experience that we've just recently released. You may also notice that all website links throughout the patcher will now always open in your default browser instead of Internet Explorer. Buttons Yes, there are many new buttons all over the place! Each one has its own purpose, and now navigates you to the most important places on our website and social media. The button at the borrom right corner offer you the replay client, support and game settings. Also don't miss out on the review button, because we rely on it more than ever! Update your review every few months, and we can reach new stars! (How about right now?) Official Updates Did you notice? The ugly box button that says "Official Patches" went missing! From now on, we package official patches up for you, and deliver them through our normal patch process. This reduces official patches in frequency, and since we deliver them on demand, you only download content that's actualy required. So sit back, relax, and focus on playing. New Architecture That's right, this isn't just a simple re-skin of our existing system, there's an entire new architecture running behind the curtain. The new patcher system is based on the official Ragnarok Online patcher, which means it's a proper, field tested solution that just works! It gives us the reliability and stability a patcher must have, to deliver you a frictionless patching experience. False Anti-Virus positives are a thing of the past, which also allows us to change the patcher in design or functionality at any given time. Official Updates As mentioned before on this convenience change, this also improves a lot from a technical standpoint. The fact that we're now also delivering official patches directly, means that at any given time a player has the same client patch state just like us. This helps us immensely on fixing technical issues like missing sprites, etc. At the same time, official patches can no longer interfere with our own. Several players experienced missing translations, simply because official patches were overwriting our customizations. Scribblish Achievement text was a great example that resulted out of that. This can no longer happen! Patch Speed Our old system delivered all data directly from the game server. While our game server has very broad bandwith to offer a reliable and fast connection, it also uses lots of other ressources during patch-peaks which could possibly affect our game server's performance. To reduce impact on gameplay to a minimum, we were forced to limit download speeds and take other precautions. This resulted in overall mediocre download speeds. From now on, all patches are being delivered through our webhost instead. This means that patches will run through Cloudflare's Global Anycast Network, that serves content from the closest server near you. In theory, this should reduce answer latency and hopefuly also increase download speeds for most likely everyone. We're not entirely sure if the Cloudflare caching algorithm takes all patch files in to account, so we rely on your feedback. Share your experience with us, as we're keen to hear if there's any improvement in speed and stability, when compared to our old patch process! It's really great to know that our game server can now fully focus on your skill spam ~ keyboard smashes instead. Help! Is something not working as expected? Did something went wrong during the patcher update process? Create a Support Ticket, let us know what happened and we'll make sure to get your problem solved.

Items Fixed Rudra Bow HP/SP Recovery bonus to properly cap at max lvl 10 and increase only every second refinement level. Fixed Turisus Runestone description. Several Achievement rewards can now be sold to the NPC. In case you want to get rid of them. Updated some achievement reward translations to get rid of scribbled item descriptions. Boss Treasures This is another approach, trying to fix rare cases where players do not recieve their reward for both world bosses and other boss treasure chest drops. Please let us know if you're still experiencing issues. Thanatos Tower Summoner can now properly interact with the 7th floor NPC. No Summoner left behind! VIP Storage Fixed a bug that allowed to put more items into the VIP storage than intended. If you've managed to do so, make sure to take out items for invisible ones to pop up again. Note: None of your items went lost! Account Plus Account Plus expire date is now displayed in the chat log upon login. Colorizer Quest Fixed item naming in all NPC dialogues since the items have recieved a color name update in the past. White became Gray, and Gray became Brown. This is only a textual correction and doesn't change its looks.

    Reviving Vote Shop Items

No, it was definitely in Vote Shop too. We want Flying Galapago! A lot of the headgears that were in vote shop were also quest headgears though and those are the ones I can remember. I don't know about the Mine Hat. The quest is pretty simple and it would help drive the game economy and game time if quests were done as opposed to having everything be exchanged by tickets. I feel like it makes the game redundant if you just had to do PHQ or WB daily for a number of days to get everything you need. Redundancy of daily activity kills a game sadly. I honestly think NPC quests are better for game dynamics.

    GatheringRO Survey

Hello fellow players, we've prepared another survey for you to help us shaping the future of GatheringRO. The feedback on our last survey truly helped us to improve on several aspects of the game, and we're looking forward to improve core gameplay and features even further. This survey focuses on systems that changed outside the game, but also goes into key core gameplay changes that we're currently looking into. Click the link below to answer our brief survey (10 questions) - it would only take about 5-10 minutes of your time. Survey Link: https://bit.ly/gROsurvey Thank you!

Thank you for your input. I was hoping to create a guide that welcomes anyone who does not know anything about RO. I created the guide in the mindset of a person who got an installer and decided to play the game. The target person would not have any connections with anyone on the server and would need to find a way to earn gold and had to build a character from scratch without getting any help from anyone including starting equipment. I do agree that I need to add more information about the actual gold farming aspect and is a work in progress for Part 4 of this guide. That will be edited and updated into this topic very soon. So I hope you look forward to it. Again, many thanks for dropping by!

    Cash Shop

Summer Exclusives The Blue Sea Egg is back, which you can not only purchase from the cash shop, but also unlock by fishing! This beauty withholds a great set of summer costumes from the past years, and includes brand new summer 2020 exclusives! We're just a few days away from our annual fishing event, so stay tuned. Blue Sea Egg has been updated and may now also contain one of the following costumes: We've added even more time limited exclusives to our cash shop. Grab them while they're still available! Shop Section Changes This small restructure of our cash shop is based on your feedback that we've gathered during our last survey. We removed entire cash shop sections, added new ones, and moved several items back and forth. Equipment Section Since the items offered were only mediocre, and adding stronger gear would only generate a pay 2 win situation, we felt removing it is the right way to go. We weren't sure whetever we're supposed to remove or update this section. Your feedback helped us to go into the right direction and remove it eventualy. New Pet Section We're now featuring a pet section, which mainly features costumes, that ressemble a pet that's following you on your adventures! Some of them have already been available as limited time offers in the past, while others are brand new. This time around, they're here to stay! Starting off with a basic set of pets, we've planned to add new ones as time moves on. The Deluxe Pet Box which includes real pets that require feeding has also been moved into this new section. Costume Sets Section All random costumes have been removed, including all glasses. These are planned to find their way back into other costume shops, which means they will become available for ingame currency eventualy. Now, this section features class related costume sets and the invisible costume set only. However we've also plans to further populate it with new class/costume sets in the future. Special Offer Section This section was never in use, as it was bound to an official limited quantity system that never caught our interest. Since we're already running a limited time section and continue to do so, this special offer section is no longer available. Price Reduction Gym Pass (1piece) has been permanently reduced to 250 cash points. Gym Pass (10 pieces) has been permanently reduced to 2000 cash points. These are permanent character strength upgrades, which can also be unlocked ingame.

    Guide Event

Dear GatheringRO players, let's support each other with some new and updated guides by introducing the unique forum event Write-A-Guide! This event has officialy started and will last until the 30th of June. Every new guide that is written within that period of time or every guide that receives a major overhaul by its author will automatically be registered for this event. The main criterion for this event is QUALITY & DETAILED INFORMATION. Writing multiple guides that lack in quality will not improve your chances to be among the winners. The more effort you put into this, the higher the chances we will not let your efforts go to waste. If you want your old guide to be considered, you will have to do some major edits (e.g. if it currently lacks pictures, add those, go further into detail etc.). However that doesn't mean that cluttering your guide with tons of random images will improve its quality. Sometimes less is more, so make sure you create a clean guide everyone is able to pick up with ease. We prefer original guides for our Custom GatheringRO Features or Class Guides as this will help newbies and oldies find their way around GatheringRO. You can also write your own version of guides that already exist but which heavily lack in up-to-dateness (again, make sure the effort you put into it is visible). Keep in mind that in order to qualify guides have to be written in reasonable English and they have to contain high quality images. Lastly, we want to show you that we appreciate your recent guides. That's why we decided to also consider recent guides that are not older than 2 months for this event. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. There can be multiple winners. Prizes are intentionally set very high as each entry requires a lot of effort and contributes greatly to the community. We will choose 1 guide from among the winners which will receive Cash Points as an additional prize, and a 2nd and 3rd prize for an additional Account Plus egg. Prizes for every winner: 1x GatheringRO Surprise Box 2x Surprise Box (15-20 Tokens) 1x Chest of Loyalty 1x Exclusive Costume Golden Question Mark (Equip Location: Upper Head) Additional Prize for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd best guide: 1xAccount Plus for 1 Month Additional Prize for the best guide: 1x 2000 Cash Points Summary: Date: 2020.05.21 - 2020.06.30 How to participate: Write a new guide or (significantly) update an old guide of yours Criteria: Quality, up-to-dateness, English (punctuation, grammar etc.), Images Prizes: All winners get the prizes listed above, the best guides win additional prizes Uploading Images: We prefer images being uploaded to our forums rather than using external image hosting services. This ensures that they don't get lost over the years! It's a simple drag&drop upload system, super fast to use and can be used for free. It also helps us to keep your effort for the longest period of time possible. Thank you

    Sit-Bug

How you can imagine it: The Server is basically the game. The client is your controller, and only displays what the server tells you. Doesn't matter what your client shows you, ulimately the server is the game. So if you're sitting on the server, of course you can't cast any skills. I'm not sure how exactly the sit command packets are being sent. But you're basically telling the server to sit down, but the server will most likely not react to that packet because you're already sitting. That means: You see yourself standing, send SIT, server tells you that you're already sitting, so your client now updates to sitting position. At this point, the issue is temporarily "fixed" and you can stand up again and you're back in sync. It's a "simple" desync issue. Although it might not be so easy to fix the cause. Let's see what the rAthena devs are saying about it. I hope it's a server side issue and they can fix the skills with adding some additional checks. Because it could possibly be a client side issue, in that case, it most likely can't be fixed at all. Thank you very much for the indept tests. That's gonna help immensly.

    Sit-Bug

Hi, I don't know if this has been successfully reported but, I've been able to replicate the sit-bug with the help of @Mytranos. What is the "Sit-bug"? The "sit-bug" is when your character is on its attack stance but when in fact, your character is sitting. How does it happen? Based on tests with @Mytranos, we've come to a conclusion that the "sit-bug" occurs when a skill that forces you to sit such as Wind Mill or Moon Slasher hits you whilst flinching. The best way we were able to replicate this was Finger Offensive followed immediately by Wind Mill. How does one get out of the bug? You have to use the /sit command twice. In some instances outside the controlled environment, I had to spam the /sit command a lot of times in order to free myself. Another way is to make your character flinch in order to reset the animation (i.e. take damage). Findings: You can't cast any spells while this bug is in effect because despite looking like you're standing, you can't cast any spells because you're actually sitting down. Weirdly, you can still auto-attack someone while in this state. Melee attackers will only be able to attack those who come within range but will not be able to move from place. Casting Wind Mill or Moon Slasher on someone affected by the "sit-bug" will cause them to sit again (in actual sitting animation) which can be very confusing. I believe that the "sit-bug" may occur at anytime so long as a skill that forces you to sit down is cast on a player that is flinching from damage. Multi-hit skills trigger this bug often when coupled with force-sit skills. Footage: Sit-bug Replication (Kaza's Perspective).rrf Sit-Bug Replication (Cressenda Perspective).rrf Sit-bug Replication 1st Perspective.rrf Sit-bug replicatoin 2nd perspective.rrf Hope this bug gets fixed!

    Sit-Bug

Reported to rAthena: https://github.com/rathena/rathena/issues/5060 What you're basically describing is that your client doesn't reflect the actual character state that is currently set on the server. So it's a sync issue.

    Pro Hunter Entrance Quest (Full)

Being a Pro Hunter gives you access to the Pro Hunter Market located at (althea_in 75 88) which contains various items that push into PvE end-game territory. But first, you need the Pro Hunter's License that only Pro Hunters who passed a rigorous test may obtain such a license. Step 1: Go to the Adventurer's Guild (@go adv) and talk to Ging. Tip: Don't spam through the dialogue. He will ask you if you want to take the exam, which you reply "Yes, please!". Step 2: Walk down just a little bit and speak to the Exam Supervisor. Select the dialogue "Yes, I am ready." when you wish to take the test. Step 3: Upon accepting the test, you will be warped to the Testing Room wherein you must obtain 4 Pro Hunter's Approval by completing four individual tests. 3.1) Killua's Tracking Test - You may find Killua on the northwest part of the room. This test simply requires you to remember where the shadow stops. You will do this for a few rounds and eventually, you will get your first Pro Hunter's Approval! 3.2) Hisoka's Jan-Ken-Pon - Hisoka is located at the southwest part of the room. This test relies mostly on your luck, and rule here is that you need to win three times in a row to earn Hisoka's approval. If you and Hisoka pick the same gesture, you have to pick another gesture. Example: If you and Hisoka pick Rock, you are forced to pick either Paper or Scissors. Losing against him will cost you a part of your HP and all your SP which is lethal if you drop too low. Eventually, you'll get another Pro Hunter's Approval. 3.3) Netero's Physical Therapy - This test is basically Jan-Ken-Pon but with extra steps. Netero can be found in the southeast part of the room. Tips: When attacking, always chose the "Strike Head!" option. Based on experience, head attacks are more likely to hit compared to the other attacks. On the first two rounds, both attacks must land in order to gain the advantage. Since you are given the first attack, select the "Strike Head!" option. If Netero blocks this attack, cancel the dialogue and redo it until you hit him. When you do hit him, Netero will initiate his own attack from which you will respond with "Counter Back!". Do this until you land both a "Strike Head!" and a "Counter Back!" attack. This will prompt you to have similar or close to similar HP. Alternate between "Dodge!" and "Block!". Based on experience, this helps avoid most of the damage. Be absolutely persistent. Congratulations on your 3rd Pro Hunter's Approval! 3.4) Kurapika's Intelligence Test - He can be found on the northeast part of the room. This test can either be your easiest or the most difficult one. This test requires you to piece certain words together without any context and create something that makes sense. The combination of words are: You now have all 4 Pro Hunter's Approvals! Step 4: Speak to Alluka who is located just behind Killua, and ask her to warp you out. Once out, speak to Ging in order to receive your Pro Hunter's License! Congratulations! You now have access to daily Pro Hunter Quests and the Pro Hunter Market. Note that the Pro Hunter Market is only open to characters who have the Pro Hunter's License in their inventory. You do not need the Pro Hunter's License in your inventory in order to receive rewards from completing the Pro Hunter Quests.

    World Boss Guide 2.0

This will serve as an update to my previous guide. This guide will cover the following: Introduction The World Bosses Class/Job Relevance during World Boss Events Etiquette in World Boss Events Introduction: World Boss Events (most commonly known as WBEs) are one of the custom features of GatheringRO. Every few set of hours, a world boss appears in a specific map wherein players must arrive to and defeat the world boss together. If you are curious when and where the next world boss might spawn, click here. World Bosses often provide a plethora of rewards such as Werewolf Essence, King Poring Essence, and Belphegor Egg which, when opened, provide rare and often times extremely valuable items. After defeating a World Boss, a glowing chest will appear on the spot the boss died. If you've dealt enough damage to the World Boss (around 500,000 to 1,000,000 minimum damage based on observation), you will be rewarded at least 5 Yggdrasil Berries and 1 Evil Boss Fragment. Note: You can only claim World Boss Rewards a maximum of 3 times a day. Any successive attempts to claim rewards will be denied. Evil Boss Fragments are also a valuable currency of which you can trade them in for great rewards at the Shady Figure in the Althea Adventurers Guild (@warp althea_in 69 92). The World Bosses: There are currently only three World Bosses at the present. Who knows if the server is going to add more in the future? Let's break down: Who are the World Bosses? What they are capable of doing? How do you beat them effectively? Who are the World Bosses? King Poring The King Poring is (in my humble opinion) the easiest World Boss among the three. Its high defense makes it susceptible to Thanatos Card effects and the spells it casts are fairly easy to avoid. It also summons an entourage of Poring Guards that don't really help it. Despite the King Poring being one of the 'easier' bosses, caution must still be exercised when fighting this over sized blob. Werewolf The Werewolf is a strong short-ranged attacker that makes short work anyone and anything that gets too close to it. Despite possessing mostly close-ranged skills, the Werewolf can increase its movement speed to close the distance with ease. This is the only World Boss that does not summon anything. Belphegor Belphegor is the most annoying, if not difficult boss to fight. Despite having the lowest MaxHP among the three World Bosses, Belphegor possesses an arsenal of magical abilities and powerful summons. Belphegor is accompanied by three demons: Shalibri, Sonneillon, and Succorbenoth which aid the demon when they are threatened. Class/Job Relevance during World Boss Events: This part of the guide will cover the uses for most (not all) of the classes in the server and their relevance during World Boss Events. Certain classes also have roles to play in the World Boss which are merely suggestive and created based on observation and research during the World Boss Events. Roles: Ranged DPS: Designed to constant deal damage from a safe distance. These classes usually have naturally fast attack speeds or spammable skills. This is one of the more consistent and popular roles taken during World Boss Events. Ranged Burst: Classes with this role are usually able to deal a lot of damage in a short time frame. These skills could have high damage but high to moderate cooldowns to be counted in this role. (Magic classes that deal long-raged magic damage are included in this role.) Tank: These classes are naturally able to soak a lot of damage without dying too quickly or possess skills that enable them to block or avoid damage. Melee Burst: Similar to the Ranged Burst role, classes in this role deal massive damage in a short time frame when in melee range of the boss. Melee DPS: Classes within this role go close to the World Boss and deal consistent damage to it. This role is known to be one of the most risky and niche, only viable against certain World Bosses. Support: This role specializes in increasing the damage of World Boss participants, make sure the participants don't die, and make sure that the other participants attack the boss as unhindered as possible. This role is not very popular do to the nature of reward claiming during World Boss events very damage-centric, making this the least popular role of the bunch. Etiquette in World Boss Events Be on time all the time. Other people have places to be. Avoid Fire-property damage. It's counter-productive. Don't AoE Belphegor. Lest you anger both man and demon. Try something new. If it benefits everyone. Thanks for reading my guide! Do know that this is open to change and constructive criticism. If you'd like to add insights, feel free to add input or correct me if I've made a mistake . Special Thanks to: @Madeleine Jon, @W e n d i r o u s, @Khaii, @Ryu Sakamoto, Ralf, and @Everade.

This Guide Contains: Introduction Stat, Skill, and Item Builds for the various Kage/Oboro Universally Useful Skills Personal Notes and Observations The Kagerou and Oboro classes are extremely versatile classes that can switch between physical and magical damage with ease. The class innately excels under pressure as they seem to have an answer to any adversity that comes their way. In this guide, I will be focusing on the builds I have uncovered while playing the Kagerou/Oboro class. I will also be covering the strengths and weaknesses of the builds as well as tips and tricks on how to play the class effectively in different builds. This guide focuses on the PvP aspect of the Kagerou/Oboro and thus, will not cover their PvE potentials. Stat Build: Pure Magic: This build focuses on fast, and mostly single-target magic aimed to completely obliterate a single unit. Pros: High (mostly) single-target magic which uses three main elements: Fire, Water, and Wind. Most offensive skills have no after-cast delays. Is able to use amulets to increase a specific element's damage. Is able to apply amulets to the ground creating hazards for enemies. Dual-wielding increases magic damage to a whole new level. Cons: Fragile; low-hp making it easy for enemies to eliminate the Kagerou/Oboro. Uses elements that are easy to resist. Str - Added mainly to enable the Kagerou/Oboro to carry more ammunition and amulets. Agi - Higher attack speed decreases cast animations allowing the Kagerou/Oboro to cast skills in quick succession. Vit - This stat shouldn't be too high (above 150 is too high for this build) as it will enable Thanatos Card users to kill you faster. Int - This will be the Kagerou/Oboro's main stat for the Pure Magic build as it lowers the cast-time of spells as well as increase the overall magic damage. Dex - The Kagerou/Oboro will require 150 Dex in order to cast spells at optimal speed. Luk - Added for utility, the Luk stat will grant you resistances to various impairments like Frozen and Deep Sleep. This stat also adds a slight increase to both Atk and Matk. Skills: This section will cover what skills will be useful to the Pure Magic build of the Kagerou/Oboro. Item build: The Pure Magic build will be reliant in switching between dual-daggers and dagger-shield. Stat Build: Huuma Arts: This build focuses purely on the physical side of the Kagerou/Oboro which specializes in various throwing techniques and the utilization of multiple elements. This guide will focus only on the Str aspect of the Huuma Arts as the Agi-Dex build's damage is insignificant compared to the Str build. Pros: Unpredictable; the Kagerou/Oboro can easily change elements through endowing their weapons. Moderate burst damage Has access to different long-ranged attacks single-target and AoE alike. Effective at both close range and long range combat. Possesses multiple fast skills that require no casting Cons: Some skills have fixed cooldowns. Naturally Low HP. Requires more patience to play effectively compared to other Kagerou/Oboro builds. Str - This will be the main source of damage for most throwing skills of the Kagerou/Oboro. Agi - Higher attack speed lowers the animation of cast times thus allowing the Kagerou/Oboro to throw faster. Vit - Again, this stat must not be too high due to the possibility that foes might use Thanatos Card effects on the Kagerou/Oboro. Int - This will be use purely for SP purposes. Dex - The Kagerou/Oboro will require 150 Dex in order to cast spells at optimal speed as well as act as a secondary stat for long-ranged skills. Luk - Added for utility, the Luk stat will grant you resistances to various impairments like Frozen and Deep Sleep. This stat also adds a slight increase to both Atk and Matk. Skills: This section will cover what skills will be useful to the Huuma Arts build of the Kagerou/Oboro. ==To be Continued==

    Homunculus and Homunculus S Guide

Homunculus What are Homunculus? Homunculi are special pets which acts as a support or an instant party member for the Alchemist class. Trivia: How to get a Homunculus? One must complete the Bioethics Quest to unlock the appropriate skills to create a Homunculus. (Much better to talk to the Platinum Skill Npc so you will get the Bioethics) Once you get a Bioethics skill, make sure you have an Embryo on your Inventory and use Call Homunculus. How to get an Embryo You can either make these, purchase from other Alchemists or just buy at the Tool Dealer at Althea (althea 166, 277). To make one, you need to have Prepare Potion along with the following items: Medicine Bowl Glass Tube Morning Dew of Yggdrasil Seed of Life Potion Creation Guide (not consumed) These items can be bought at the Alchemist Guild (alde_alche 35, 179) Note: Types of Homunculi There are 4 types of Homunculi. Comparisons Players often ask "which should I choose?" which kinda reminds you of that time when you picked your first pokemon. Each homunculus offers a different purpose that will suit the players' needs. Not only that but also stats and skills are carried out to Homunculus S. Lif (Demi-human, Starting Stats: 150 HP/40 SP, STR: 12, AGI: 20, VIT: 15, INT: 35, DEX: 24, LUK: 12, Category: Support) If you want something to just walk around Althea with a cute companion, this is a good choice but if you want to use it as a party member, its not. It offers a movement speed boost but that is already covered by Cart Boost. Its stats are low, no burst attack and a useless healing skill therefore using it as base is not really advisable. Amistr (Brute/Animal, Starting Stats: 320 HP/10 SP, STR: 20, AGI: 17, VIT: 35, INT: 11, DEX: 24, LUK: 12, Category: Tank) The best base for a Homunculus S but also hard to feed especially if you choose learning Blood Lust making it loyal requires twice the amount and also lacks offensive skills. Its main selling point is its skill Defense which is valuable since it increases VIT and a certain amount of defense which can be useful in PvP and MVP. Not a pet for those who doesn't like to wait for it to get loyal. Filir (Brute/Animal, Starting Stats: 90 HP/25 SP, STR: 29, AGI: 35, VIT: 9, INT: 8, DEX: 30, LUK: 9, Category: High ASPD/Dodge) A good base due to its skills and offensive stats but suffers from lack of VIT which carries over on your Homunculus S. Other than that, its still a good choice for a base. Vanilmirth (Formless, Starting Stats: 80 HP/11 SP, STR: 11, AGI: 11, VIT: 11, INT: 11, DEX: 11, LUK: 11, Category: Magic) If you can't choose between Filir and Amistr, this is the best option left. Having high VIT and HP and also decent offensive skill although Caprice is random. This is the best homunculus for brewers since their skill Instruction Change increases success rate for brewing. Intimacy Just like your pets, homunculus requires feeding. Always feed the homunculus between 11~25 hunger level so that it gets 1 point of Intimacy. (Well auto-feed option already answers this but you need to at least learn how it works) If one forgets to feed the homunculus, Intimacy will drop and homunculus will leave its master once it gets to 0 Intimacy. Homunculus displays a warning by using emotes. Stat Growth Homunculus' Stat Growth differs from its masters. Here's a chart on how to calculate their stats: Mature Versions Use Stone of Sage once Intimacy gets to Loyal Homunculus S Similar to Digimon or Pokemon or whichever game you prefer, your Homunculus evolves to an improved version which we refer to as Homunculus S. How to get Homunculus S? You can only obtain a Homunculus S by doing the Homunculus S Quest and make sure that your base Homunculus have evolved to its mature form. (Refer to below for the Quest) You also need to fulfill these requirements: Owner must be a Geneticist Homunculus must be evolved into their mature form Homunculus must be at least Level 99 Types of Homunculi S Comparisons Eira Similar to Lif, this is the least popular amongst the choices, but not entirely useless. Most skills require loyalty but they are pretty handy depending on the situation, they might act as life savers like Overed Boost that sets FLEE at 500 and Light of Regenerate that Eira uses to bring owner back to life. Recommended base: Vanilmirth Bayeri Another unpopular choice from the pack. Stein Wand is basically Safety Wall but differs with its duration and number of blocks. Heilage Stange is very bad though as it is interruptable making it useless in battle. Stahl Horn can be used in PvP but Stun and Knockbacks are really unreliable in WoE. Recommended base: Filir or Amistr Sera Very popular pick due to its Pain Killer which massively reduces damage on the owner making it good for tanking. Recommended base: Filir or Vanilmirth Dieter Probably the most popular due to the skills it has to offer. Pyroclastic provides a good damage boost but can break the weapon. Defenses are good when it comes to stats. AOE skills like Magma Flow and Lava Slide makes it very popular. Recommended base: Amistr or Vanilmirth Eleanor A good offensive homunculus but has not much to offer aside from its offensive abilities. It can chain its offensive skills Sonic Claw, Silvervein Rush and Midnight Frenzy. Recommended base: Filir Homunculus S Quest In the Geneticist Guild in Lighthalzen talk to Viorel (job3_gen01 12, 44) Agree to visit Viorel's house and he will warp you inside Talk to him again, and explore the Homunculus Mutation System. He will send you to Jeyna. Talk to Jeyna; She will ask you to check the Magic Board behind her. This will briefly explain the Homunculus S. Talk to Jeyna again. If you agreed, She will transform your Homunculus back to a Strange Embryo. Talk to her again and she will send you to Viorel. Talk to Viorel, he will give you an option for a stabilized mutation for 50,000 zeny or not pay at all for a random unstabilized mutation. Talk to him again to leave the place. AI Sadly I don't have a working AI right now, I'll edit this guide once I manage to get one, but I don't think there's one or if we are encouraged to have an AI of Homunculus, I still have to ask them to the higher ups. Gomen gomen... 😢 CONGRATULATIONS ON MAKING YOUR HOMUNCULUS! 😎 PS: I want to thank @Gacha and @Kazalus for helping me. I also like to thank @Pixel for discussing me some things regarding them.
